A smiling man with glasses and a beard wearing a gray shirt and black coat standing outdoors in front of trees with autumn leaves.

I am an author and practising barrister.

My first book, We, the Parties: Why Political Parties Matter, will be published in late 2026 by Penguin Random House.

I taught law and completed my PhD at the University of Cambridge as a Cambridge International Scholar. My prize-winning work on political parties has been published in some of the leading journals in the field and cited by the Supreme Courts of India and Pakistan.

I grew up near Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh (India), and completed my undergraduate degree at the National Law School, Bangalore, as the outstanding graduate of my year. I then went on to study at Oxford and Yale, where I was an Inlaks Scholar and a Fox International Fellow.

Outside of academic journals, I also write for print and online media, and have discussed my writings on public forums, news channels, and podcasts.

My practice as a barrister is broad. It ranges from geopolitical tensions, international trade and financial services to business fraud and even Premier League football.

I split my time between London, Delhi, and a few places in between.
